OUR STORY

Hi! I'm Michelle, founder of Maine-based Thimble Creek Creative.

I bring over a decade of experience in marketing, communications, design, photography, and event coordination. I am currently the Director of Marketing for United Way of Kennebec Valley, a central Maine nonprofit, where I am responsible for all marketing communications, social media management, graphic design, and event planning. It’s here that I have honed my skills in graphic design and branding and discovered a true passion for creating impactful visuals and cohesive brand identities.

When I started dreaming up my own business, I knew I wanted to combine my creative side with my love for hiking and the outdoors. But there’s another special layer to the story:

My grandmother and I were very close, and when she passed away, my husband and I were trying to find the perfect name for our own farm. She had grown up on a farm in Dayton, Ohio, called Thimble Creek Farm, a place she often spoke about with fondness. It immediately felt right to name our farm after hers. We have a creek that runs the length of our property, so Thimble Creek it became. When I later decided to start my creative company, it felt natural to keep it within the Thimble Creek family—hence, Thimble Creek Creative.

Think of Thimble Creek Creative as the trailhead—we all start somewhere, and every brand’s journey is unique with its own set of challenges. I’m here to guide your brand to its creative summit and beyond.

I’m fascinated by ideas and am able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. I like to collect and archive information, and this is where I draw much of my creativity. I’m also deeply intrigued by the unique qualities of people and businesses, and I can easily put myself in the shoes of the ideal customer persona or in your shoes as the business owner so that I can walk all paths of the brand’s journey.

I absolutely love helping startup businesses craft unique brand experiences that get them noticed, connect with their audience, and achieve their goals. I primarily work with local brands, especially those that prioritize their impact on the environment, understanding that many startups can’t afford a full-time marketing person.

I specialize in helping startup businesses with branding, graphic design, and marketing strategies to connect with their target audience and achieve their business goals.

I’m originally from San Diego, California, but I moved to Maine in 2018 after falling in love with its gorgeous landscapes (and my husband!). We now own 56 beautiful acres of rural Maine—Thimble Creek Farm—with our two wonderful boys and the sweetest puppy and are working on building our forever home.
